Welcome to the Chinese Cultural Club Information page!

    What:

In this club we host numerous different cultural activities. Some of the activities we have hosted, allow club members to directly participate in, such as ping pong tournaments, Chinese Board Game events, and Chinese painting activities that vary depending on the years and supplies available (masks/fans/calligraphy/etc). We also have Chinese movies, which can be documentaries about the culture or dubbed American movies) and music that club members can watch and listen to learn more about the culture and language. The club typically takes one annual field trip to a museum or event specifically dedicated to Chinese Culture or history, and to eat at a traditional Chinese restaurant. The restaurant or cuisine the club decides to eat varies every year, depending on what province in China is decided to be featured that year.

    Why:

The main purpose of this club is to inform and expose students to the Chinese Culture, from cuisine, media, music, sports, traditions, to history. This allows students, even those that are unable to take the Mandarin Language Class, to experience and learn more about a culture that they may not be accustomed to. Our main goal is to expose the language and culture to allow for a better understanding of Chinese traditions and values.
