• Audition Materials
     
    -There are spots for anyone interested in the jazz band who can demonstrate competency or willingness to learn about jazz. If your instrument is not listed below, you may still audition, and you should contact Mr. Reilly (kevin.reilly@riverdell.org) about what materials to prepare. 
     
    Rhythm Section (not including drums), Woodwinds, and Brass
     
    1- Learn and play the blues scales below (click on the link to download a file). BPM is 116. Eighth notes are swung.
    -Trumpet - Blues Scale (Trumpet range - C) <--*Clarinet can use this file. Transpose up or down an octave as necessary.
    -Alto Sax Blues Scales (Eb) <--*Baritone sax can use this file. Transpose up or down an octave as necessary.
    -Piano -Blues Scale (Piano) <--*Voice can use this the treble clef part of this file. Transpose up or down an octave as necessary.
    -Bass Blues Scale (Bass Clef) <--*Trombone can use this file. Transpose up or down an octave as necessary.
     
    Drums
