IMPORTANT: CROSS COUNTRY IS A FALL SEASON SPORT!! If you are looking for Track & Field, that is a Spring sport.  Why not do both?
*Since Middle School Athletics doesn't begin until the school year begins, it is important that you submit all necessary paperwork before practicing and competing.

ALL NEW HAWKS!!!! (Yes, you from Cherry Hill, OPS and Roosevelt!)

IF YOU CLICK THE RDMS XC "MUST HAVES" PAGE, THIS WILL DIRECT TO THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT PAGE, LISTING ITEMS NEEDED TO PARTICIPATE.

Cross Country is a sport that tests an athlete's body and mind through a running race. The length of a middle school cross country race at a meet is about 1.5 miles.

***To participate in any cross country practices, you must submit all of your eligibility forms to the athletic department prior. Forms have been sent to your house during the Summer and can be located on the RDHS Athletics page as well. BE SURE TO GET YOUR FORMS IN DURING THE SUMMER TO AVOID MISSING ANY PRACTICES! Make sure to write CROSS COUNTRY for sport. You can print additional copies from the River Dell High School Athletics Page

IF A STUDENT HASN'T BEEN CLEARED BY SEPTEMBER 18, 2020 AND COMPLETED 6 PRACTICES BY SEPTEMBER 30, 2020 THEY FORFEIT THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE.

Great Website to locate races during the summer.  *Remember to run in the early morning or dusk for cooler temperatures.

    What we'll do!
Practices are a requirement for a successful season. Practices start at 3:15pm everyday from Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

No Practices on Wednesdays unless otherwise determined by the Coach. All Practices end between 4:00 pm - 4:15 pm.

    Where to Go?
    Practices: RDHS track
    Home Meets: RDHS track
Away Meets: RDMS picnic area is where "Pick-Up" 2:50 pm - 3:10 pm and "Drop-off" on Woodland Ave. (location of Away meet dictates arrival time back at RDMS) will be for all participants.  **Check AWAY Meet Roster due to limited space on bus.

**It is the students' and parents' responsibility to make the necessary arrangements for proper dismissal from RDMS after an Away meet.  Please be aware that any student that is not picked up after an Away Meet within a reasonable amount of time (10-15 minutes upon returning to RDMS), they will forfeit his/her roster spot after the second infraction.

**If a parent or guardian prefers to take his/her son/daughter home from an AWAY Meet location, due to other committments, the parent or guardian must email Coach Bejot the day prior to or day of the event.  You will be asked to sign out the student-athlete by intialing or signing your original email.  Thank you for your cooperation, because attendance is priority.

    What to wear to practice?
Any River Dell apparel.  A great item is your 7th grade Field Day shirt for starters until XC shirts are ordered and distributed. Shorts are recommended along with sneakers.  Similar dress code for gym class.

In the event of RAIN, please check your email for the afternoon announcements about that day's practice.
