This course explores the foundations of writing style and meaning through the use of correct grammar and mechanics. Students actively engage in formative writing projects with emphasis on specific grammar techniques. Course work includes discrete learning activities in grammar, writing, mechanics, syntaxes and the writing process. This course is framed within the 7th and 8th grade English courses and is aligned to the learning standards.
Meaning and Style is a Pass/Fail course. Numeric grades are visible in Genesis throughout the marking periods, however, numeric grades are only visible to provide an understanding of student growth. Final marking period grades will be reflected on report cards as a "P" or an "F". A "P" = 60% or more and a "F" = 59% or less.
